Additional Coursework Requirements
The additional coursework that you must complete prior to sitting for your LCSW examinations depends on when you entered your degree program.
For those who entered the qualifying degree program on or after 1/1/2004, you must complete the following additional coursework requirements:
- Child Abuse Assessment and Reporting (7 hours)
- Human Sexuality (10 hours)
- Substance Abuse and Dependency (15 hours)
- Spousal/Partner Abuse Assessment, Detection, and Intervention (15 hours)
- Aging and Long Term Care (10 hours)
For those who entered the qualifying degree program before 1/1/2004, you must complete the following additional coursework requirements:
- Child Abuse Assessment and Reporting (7 hours)
- Human Sexuality (10 hours)
- Substance Abuse and Dependency (15 hours)
- Spousal/Partner Abuse Assessment, Detection, and Intervention (No hour requirement; course can be any length)
Need to complete your additional coursework requirements? You can fulfill these requirements at any of the following entities:
- Accredited colleges or universities
- County, state, or governmental entities
- Approved continuing education providers
