The Board's Statutes and Regulations contain sections of the California Business and Professions Code and the California Code of Regulations. The publication also contains miscellaneous code sections from the California Health and Safety Code and the California Welfare and Institutions Code.

  1. Continuing Education Requirements: Effective March 20, 2008, Sections 1887.2 and 1887.3 of title 16 of the California Code of Regulations are amended. These changes allow a licensee to earn up to nine (9) hours of continuing education through self-study course during the initial license period and eighteen (18) hours during the renewal periods.
  2. Requirements for Supervisors: Effective January 26, 2008, Sections 1833.1 and 1870 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations are amended. These changes pertain to the requirements for supervisors of Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Interns and Trainees and supervisors of Associate Clinical Social Workers. It also deletes the requirement that supervisors of MFT Interns or Trainees average five patient/client contact hours per week. It also makes revisions to the Responsibility Statement for Supervisors forms.
  3. Delinquency Fees for Continuing Education Providers: Effective January 26, 2008, Sections 1816.7 and 1887.7 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations are amended and Sections 1887.75 and 1887.77 are newly adopted. These changes add a delinquency fee and renewal process for continuing education (CE) provider approvals; prohibit a provider from applying for a new approval number within one year of an existing approval's expiration unless the provider has undergone a change ownership; and prohibit a course from being presented for CE credits for licensees of the Board; when a provider's approval is expired
