Examination

The Board develops examinations to test candidate’s skills for licensure in California. The development of an examination represents a significant effort on the part of the Board, the Office of Examination Resources, the Board's subject matter experts and the testing vendor.

Candidates for examination should be aware of important examination information. Meeting deadlines and studying official examination study material, available in the MFT Standard, Vignette, LCSW Standard, Vignette, and LEP examination candidate handbooks, are equally important to candidates. Candidates can find information on examination administration and test site locations in these candidate handbooks as well. Additionally, the Board provides study guides with sample questions and test preparation strategies. Candidate handbooks, study guides, and all other examination related forms are available in Forms and Publications.

The Board offers reasonable testing accommodations to those who submit the appropriate forms and documentation.
