Please Note: All applicants for the LPCC program should allow for a significant delay in processing. The Board is currently unable to provide an estimated length of time for processing applications. You will be notified in writing once your application has been evaluated and/or of your initial eligibility to take the examination
Reminder: Deadline for submitting Grandparenting Applications ![]()
The December 31, 2011 application deadline for “Grandparenting” is soon approaching. Due to staffing shortages and workload, we may be unable to reply to your phone or email questions prior to the application deadline. Regardless of whether you have unanswered questions, the application and fee must be postmarked by December 31, 2011 and there are no exceptions. We recommend that you complete your application to the best of your ability and submit it by the deadline. If there are any deficiencies in your application, we will notify you by mail once your application has been processed. Applicants will have one year from the date of the Board’s evaluation of their application to submit documentation that all deficiencies have been met.
Legislation to extend the LPCC “grandparenting” period until December 31, 2011, was signed by the Governor on August 1, 2011! LPCC “grandparenting” applications must be postmarked by December 31, 2011. Legislation signed by the Governor’s Office also made the following changes:
- Repealed BPC 4999.56 and 4999.101 and made conforming amendments to BPC Sections 4999.102 and 4999.104. These amendments repealed the requirement for individuals granted an LPCC license during the grandparenting period that do not have an MFT or LCSW license to annually renew their license and be subject to further examinations.
- Applicants seeking licensure during the grandparenting period may obtain the required supervised hours of experience under a “professional clinical counselor, or equivalent.”
